In today’s art class, we learned Repousse. It refers to metalworking technique in which malleable metal is shaped by hammering from the reverse side to create design in low relief.

Chasing or embossing refer to similar technique, in which the piece is hammered on the front side, sinking metal. The two techniques are often used in conjunction. These techniques are ancient and have been extensively used. The best examples are the face of the Statue of Liberty and the golden mask on the mummy of king Tut (Egypt).

Tomorrow being Valentine day, today’s theme in the class was around that and attached is what I created.

May your Valentine’s day be filled with lots of love, joy and happiness!
