Trip to Los Angeles and Santa Barbara - Part 1

Sunday, September 6, 2021, 10:30 am, 640F (180C), Sunny beautiful morning

Wishing a happy and restful Labor Day to all in the USA.

I was in Los Angeles from August 24 to August 29 to spend time with Parini, Kevin, Jasen and Jessica. First two days I stayed with Parini and Kevin and rest of the trip we all went to Santa Barbara to stay in an Airbnb (a rented house).

The house was on a hill-top overlooking other mountain tops far-away. It was perfect get-away for all of us. One day we went to Paso Robles for wine tasting at the LXV Winery which is about 2-hour drive NW of Santa Barbara. This boutique winery is owned by a couple originally from Mumbai.

Most of the days, we spent lot of time at home enjoying the house and its beautiful landscape. Every day, we entertained ourselves by cooking different cuisine for dinners - Chinese (dumplings), American (pizza) and Indian (pani puri, chole and chicken curry).

On Saturday, August 28, my niece Geeta and her husband Kanu and my nephew Nilesh and his wife Kalyani and daughters Alisha and Reya came to visit us. It was wonderful catching up with all after a long time.

Peggy and Selina took care of Sumi on a 24/7 basis. Bharti Doshi, our family friend of many years, came on Saturday (28th) and Sunday to give respite to Selina. Many thanks to Bharti.

I hope to make more frequent visit to Los Angeles and other places in future.
